A fading subject

Most people think that Tennessee is a less than average state with no really interesting history, but they are very wrong.Tennessee has been a very important part of American history, but in the last few years Tennessee histiry has been taught less and less until all there is a a thing or two here and a little bit here but no major source of information. That is what this site is for, keeping Tennessee history available for those who want it.

First we'll talk about a few of the major things in Tennessee.

The University of Tennessee Football Team, the Vols, short for Volunteers, is named for an old nickname of Tennessee, after William Blount called thousands of Tennesseans in an all volunteer army. Another important happening in Tennessee was the first CokeTM bottling plant located across the street from the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, and is now used for office space. Next is the first KrystalTM restaurant, and the Krystal tower still stands in downtown Chattanooga.

Making History

Scroll, Spinning

In Sequatchie County Tennessee, "history" is being made, with the first class ever to learn ONLY local history. Our teacher ,Henry R. Camp, Is the author of the one and only book about the Sequatchie Valley. He is also the county historian, and has a wide array of information about Tennessee and Sequatchie County.

As we said before, Tennessee history is fading away from school, and we don't want to see this happen so we are here to inform you and if you can't get the information you want try looking at the contacts page to contact us and submit your question.
